Lynn Everard is Founder and Managing Director of Valumatrix, LLC and has held numerous procurement and supply chain leadership positions across a wide variety of settings of care for companies including Univita Health, HCA, Health Infusion, Coram Healthcare, Critical Care America, CarePlus and National Health Care Affiliates.
He specializes in the home care market and helping companies at every link in the supply chain develop service and revenue strategies and operational effectiveness and efficiency. He prepares clients to meet the challenge of managed care by helping them understand the market and anticipating the changes that are coming so that they can develop product and service solutions that solidly position them for success.
Areas of expertise include procurement and contracting strategies, market entry strategies, developing collaborative working relationships with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists and other clinicians. As a non-clinician he has a superior understanding of products, how they work and how they create value in the marketplace.
In his most recent engagement he has been working with new Homecare Network Management Company, myNexus, to assist them in developing their disposable supplies drop ship program and creating an innovative approach to DME network management that emphasizes partnership and sustainability with DME companies over more traditional top down contracting approaches.
In his recent role as Director of Procurement Administration and Supplier Contracting for Univita Health he directed DME and Pharmacy procurement and supply contracting activities for the company’s wholly owned operations in three states. He co-created a strategic home ventilator program. He also co-developed an innovative wound care program and was in the process of developing a unique clinical approach to incontinence care both of which he is continuing to develop in the market.
He pioneered work in the area of Value Proposition Modeling including assisting McKesson’s Redline Division in developing a selling tool to support their entry into the drop shipping of nursing supplies directly to patients in their homes. He also created an innovative sales training program that focused more on building relationships than on product detailing. He successfully taught this program to Owens and Minor’s Florida Sales Executives.
In his first engagement with Apria he led the post-merger supply contracting process that produced $20 million in direct product unit cost savings in the first year. In his second engagement he performed an Activity Based Management analysis of Apria’s infusion division that led them to stay in the business and later acquire Coram. In 2014 Apria completed the sale of Coram to CVS Caremark for $2.1 billion dollars after acquiring it for $350 million less than a decade earlier.
Lynn earned a Bachelor of Artsfrom the State University of New York at Buffalo and the Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation from the Institute of Supply Management. In addition to his education and professional credentials he is the author of over 100 published articles and white papers. In fact, his 2001 landmark white paper, “Blueprint for an Efficient Healthcare Supply Chain” is still used as a resource for organizations in seeking to meet today’s challenges across the health care spectrum. He has also done numerous seminars and presentations.
He is the also the Founder and President of The Michele DeMeo Living Well Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing encouragement and support to the terminally ill and their loved ones. The foundation is named after Michele DeMeo, a well-known leader and certification advocate in the field of hospital sterile processing who was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 37 and given just ten months to live. As of early July, 2015 she is still fighting the good fight.
